Most walkers will be aware of the need to let someone know where they are walking. Even if you are not staying with us, by all means drop in and let us know that you are walking in the area and complete one of our forms.
We often have a visit from the police asking if we know who a particular car belongs to - almost always it is someone who is camping out in the hills or staying in a mountain bothy, but if we know this, it saves the police and rescue services wasting time.
If you let us know the route you are taking, where you are parking (and a description of your car), when you are due back and at what time to contact the emergency services, it helps us to raise the alarm if necessary and as soon as possible.
